Does that sound like a firetruck?

Yep. What a day. Woke up to a very chilly house. No heat. Furnace out. Brian went to investigate. The smell of gas was saturating the basement. Babies quickly grabbed, dog unkenneled (the poor kitty was left to fend for herself- sorry Maggie) and a prompt exit to the detached garage was made while Brian called 911. I (in my cold, silky pj's) held the girls (snug as bugs in two big blankets) as we sat in the van. Lucky paced about confused as she had already peed but no one was feeding her. The firetruck raced up and Brian explained the problem as they headed inside to investigate. They searched the basement with their little detectors, but no leak was found. Seems that when Brian took off the door to the furnace it tried to light itself again and in the process expelled just enough gas to give the strong odor and get us worried. The gas was shut off, the firemen were out the door and the furnace fix-it guy was called. He was here in a jif. Turns out the ignition switch was broken (thank goodness for tax returns). Quickly fixed and now we are finally starting to feel our toes again. Phone calls from the neighbors to make sure all was well. It is. Just a little chaotic today.

In other news... Lili is going to kill me for this someday, but I just had to because it was so cute! She got a bit of a diaper rash as her poopy pants wasn't changed quickly enough yesterday (had all the diapers in the wash as I had been unable to get them done sooner). So we decided to give her bottom some fresh air. Thanks to the super cute (and who knew, functional) Baby Legs she was able to stay plenty toasty while she played in her crib. So here is a pic of a cute little baby butt for you all. I don't know why plumber's crack is so icky, but baby butts are so cute?

Due to the cold house we had to forgo our baths this morning, but daddy did do up their hair so they would look pretty for Auntie Julie who is flying in today from California to meet the girlies. Can't wait!
